As a Test Tool Engineer, you should have the following characteristics:

At least Bachelor's degree level of intellectual ability, ICT-related studies;

Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong social skills;
-
You like working on the technical side of IT;
-
Knowledge of concepts for automated testing and the associated test tools;
-
A professional and results-oriented attitude combined with independence;
-
Extensive knowledge of test methods and techniques;
-
Familiar with development methods (SDM, DSDM, RAD, CBD);
-
Experience with project management, such as Prince2 methods;
-
Knowledge of ITIL, TMap and/or ISTQB-certified.
The following are preferred:
-
Knowledge of SAP and HP tools, such as LoadRunner and QuickTest Pro;
-
Knowledge of networks and protocols, databases and middleware;
-
Knowledge of programming languages, such as Perl, VBscript or C/C++.
As a Test Tool Engineer, you are responsible for:
-
Customer recommendations about automated approach;
-
Compilation and development of test sets using test scripts;
-
Installation and configuration tooling;
-
Performance of tests and reporting on tests performed;
-
Analysis of performance or other software issues.
