Is Business Intelligence the solution?
When the partnership was being specified, people from KBM Affilips indicated that they did not know about BI and were unsure about the usefulness of BI for the issues outlined. EclipseIT responded to this first by organising a workshop free of charge for all people involved and decision-makers in the KBM Affilips organisation. The purpose of this was to improve the understanding of each other's worlds and then to give KBM Affilips the opportunity to decide for itself if it wanted to continue the partnership or not. This workshop then created the foundations for the successful project, within which the integrated customer details and the financial reports were developed using a BI solution.
Results
In close collaboration with KBM Affilips, EclipseIT achieved the following successes within a period of about 4 months:

The basis for the KBM Affilips Business Intelligence solution;

Additional functionality compared to the old situation;

Phasing out the manual double entry of order details into two ERP systems;

Developing a reporting system for the integrated customer details;

Developing overarching financial reports;

Making a positive contribution to improving the business operations of KBM Affilips.
Apart from commitment and responsible contracting, the modular architecture and practical experiences showed their value. A quick start was possible due to the use of reusable components in the project. These reusable components are not just standard templates, but also a configurable validation module for checking the data quality of information supplied and the use of a tried-and-tested modular architecture.
